These pickups have individually adjustable magnets so that you can determine the amount of output per string, allowing you to balance them all out or create a different volume setting to your liking. The MFD's are surprisingly quiet and produce a clear, airy tone with a proper output that is ideal for country, blues and rock 'n roll, but also very well suited for many other types of music.)
